Sarah Gudernatch Smith, M.S., LEED G.A., SA8000 Auditor, is a leading specialist in sustainability communications strategies, corporate responsibility report production and stakeholder engagement projects.
Sarah has worked with sustainability consultancies Two Tomorrows, TUV Rheinland, DNV and Schlange. She wrote the 2013 Huawei Sustainability Report, created the Sustainability Program and wrote the sustainability and safety website disclosures for Pioneer Natural Resources, created Chevron’s CSR report framework and strategy, and worked to implement early-stage CSR programs with both JBS and Molinas.
Sarah has written content for Symantec’s CSR blog, helped ConocoPhillips Canada benchmark their reporting, worked with HD Supply on sustainable marketing claims and was the lead project manager for the GM Ecologic marketing claims initiative. In 2013 she was the lead project manager for a materiality review and assurance of the Kimberly-Clark and Prologis Sustainability Reports and was the head U.S. researcher on the 2012 Tomorrow’s Value Rating.
Sarah received an M.S. in Environmental Science/Sustainability Management from Columbia University and works in the non-profit sector as a Communications Manager. She believes in measurement and communication, compassion and dialogue, and getting things done.
